Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the oldest and most visited national parks in Croatia. It is only two and a half hours drive from Zadar. It consists of 16 lakes and it is under the protection of UNESCO. An abundance of flora, fauna, spacious forest, forest trails and wooden bridges form the national park. The electric boat as well as the electric train transport tourists. Plitvice lakes also offer apartment accommodation.
Legend tells that this area a long time ago was dry, the people prayed and with great thunder and wind, came the long-awaited rain. It was raining so long that the lakes were formed.
