Villa Stone Lady
Villa Stone Lady on Brac island is a traditional Dalmatian stone house from the 19th century which is renovated into a comfortable villa for 6 to 7 persons. Before the construction works on the villa began, the owners consulted the Split conservation office to preserve as much as possible of the existing Dalmatian architectural tradition and its original charm, but at the same time to meet the modern living standards.
It is a story about old grand grandmother, she lived here with here family, she had 7 children, 5 boys and 2 girls. The old stone house was empty for almost 50 years. Finally renovated it, this time into a modern luxury villa which welcomes guests from all over the world. Brac island is famous for its olive oil. The olive growing on the island has long tradition. This Stone Lady is 10 minutes by walk from the beach. Bac is ideal for mountain biking or walking and hiking.
Villa Stone Lady has just over 130 m2 of the interior, a forecourt with a swimming pool, a roofed sitting area,
a garden and a covered parking place.
On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, and also the exit to the „sular“with a view of the sea and the other shore of the Brač sea channel.
The „sular“is a local name for the top of a staircase, which was traditionally situated before the main entrance to the living area on the first floor. Now the wooden stairs connect the first floor bedrooms with the living room on the ground floor, where it used to be a room for keeping olive oil, vine, tools etc.
On the ground floor, besides the living room with TV and a fireplace, there is also a dining room, fully equipped kitchen, master bedroom with a big bathroom, additional toilet and one more bathroom. There is an exit from the master bedroom to the small romantic back garden with a terrace. The swimming pool with a hydro massage bench and a garden with an old olive tree are in the forecourt. A wooden sun deck is by the pool, and underneath, on the street level, is the parking place. A particularly attractive place is the outside dining area with a grill, covered with the authentic stone roof, which is traditional in old Dalmatian rural architecture.

Brač
Island Brac, the largest island of the central Dalmatian group of islands, the third largest among the Adriatic islands.
The highest peak of the island, Vidova Gora (Vitus’ Mount) (778 m). It is also the highest peak of all Croatian islands.
The limestone part of the coast is rocky and steep, while the rest is rather low and sandy.
The island landscape is dominated by a karst limestone relief, with numerous gullies, crevices, cavities, round valleys and coves. Milder forms of the relief, with brown Primorje soils (the most fertile on the island), are found mostly in the interior (especially between Lozisca and Nerezisca, as well as between Selca, Novo Selo and Sumartin).
The quarries of the island of Brac have been a source of stone for building decorative stonework for centuries. The old Romans have known its quality and used this very stone to build cities, temples, amphitheaters, palaces and graves all over Dalmatia.
There are no surface water streams on the island. Permanent water sources are provided only around Bol. Higher parts of the island ) are at some places covered with black and Aleppo pine forests. Larger or smaller forests of Aleppo pine are found around all coastal towns and villages.
The largest places are Pucisca and Supetar. Major farming products are olive oil, wine and fruit (sour cherries and almonds). Chief occupations include also livestock breeding and fishing. Fish canneries are located in Postira and Milna.
Major quarries, where the famous Brac building stone is excavated, are located near Pucisca, Selca, Postira, Splitska and Donji Humac.
