Рогозница

Rogoznica is a quiet Mediterranean town. It is only 30 km from Šibenik. Today’s peninsula comprises former mainland part called Kopača and the islet of Kopara Rogoznica and now they are connected. Most of the island is covered with forests  and the town is known as one of the most beautiful and safest ports and  boaters like to visit. The local people are engaged in farming, fishing and tourism.

In the past the inhabitants of Rogoznica were occupied with fishing and agriculture.

Thick pine forest, long coastal path, beaches, islets and bays and the Dragon’s eye lake, attract many tourists besides the yachtsmen. Fresh fish is every day available in the restaurants and you can taste also numerous local gastronomic specialities. Private accommodation, rooms, it  is offered in comfortable family houses.

The town is dominated by the parish church of St. Nikola with a bell tower built in the style of medieval Dalmatian architecture.

Don`t miss to visit cultural heritage of Rogoznica:  church of St. John of Trogir, church of St. Nicholas, the parish church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Heaven, Our Lady of the Chapel and the remains of fortifications. It is believed that the Rogoznica field was a Greek colony Heraklea.

The town has its own marina, marina Frapa and it is situated in the Soline bay. It owns more than 400 boats.

In  Rogoznica there is also a post-office and health centre.
