It is located on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. It is the historical centre of Dalmatia. When you come here in summer, you spend your time on the beach, you enjoy swimming and sun rays because you spend your time stress-free and relaxing. But, if it is rain, I will suggest a few ideas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zadar<\/strong>\u00a0has its own history and nice museums and churches. You must see<strong>\u00a0The Gold and Silver of Zadar<\/strong>. The exhibition found its place\u00a0\u00a0in the Benedictine convent of St Mary&#8217;s. It has been guarded by nuns since the end of the Second World War. It forms the Permanent Exhibition of Religious Art.\u00a0The collection includes reliquaries of saints or parts of them ( hands, arms and heads) coated\u00a0with gold and silver thread.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Archaeological Museum<\/strong>\u00a0in Zadar is founded in 1832.\u00a0Within the Museum there are several departments such as: pre-historic, ancient, medieval and submarine archaeological units and if you like a history, the archaeological museum is just for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Church of St. Donat<\/strong>\u00a0is the symbol of Zadar. It is the\u00a0most famous monumental edifice in Zadar and Croatia. It is\u00a0the circular church \u00a0from the 9th century.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The\u00a0Orthodox Church of St Elias\u00a0<\/strong>consists the treasury of sacral art. Most numerous are the icons which represent one of the most significant collection of their kind within the area of the Dalmatian Diocese.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Treasury of the Franciscan Monastery<\/strong>\u00a0is next to the sacristy. There are valuable examples of sacred art. You will see the\u00a0masterpiece\u00a0\u00a0from the 12th century, the painting of the Dead Christ, the ancient liturgical vessels, documents, incunabula etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Zadar City Museum<\/strong>\u00a0was founded in 1960. It\u00a0collects the cultural assets that have been created from the end of the 13th century to the present day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The museum of ancient glass<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the city\u00b4s newest attractions.\u00a0The museum contains one of the premium collections of Roman glassware outside Italy. It includes also vessels used by Roman ladies to store perfumes, skin creams and essential oils.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While visiting museums and churches, it is contact with the past.\u00a0Zadar was ruled by the Romans, Byzantines, Venetians and French.\u00a0In the city centre you can see St Anastasia Cathedral, the Church of Our Lady of Health, St Mary Church, St Krsevan Church, St Dominic Church and St Simon Church.<\/p>\n<p>To get acquainted with the history of\u00a0<strong>Zadar<\/strong>, you can go back in time.
