Dugi Rat

Dugi Rat is a village situated between Split and on the Adriatic Highway. The oldest villages surrounding Dugi Rat are on a higher level above the sea, at the foot of Mount Perun . Today these villages have been abandoned as for years the inhabitants have moved towards the coast.  Thanks to the  development of tourism, Dugi Rat has become particularly notable over the past thirty year.

Nearly the whole coast consists of pebbly beaches, while the part from Dugi Rat to Omiš is covered with sandy beaches. The village of Duce with its magnificent  sandy beach about 4 km long is a natural phenomenon. A number of houses along the coast have been built for tourism.

The scent, silence, nature and scenery of the horizon and islands, make this region particularly attractive to tourists from large  cities and world.

Picturesque old villages, numerous coves,  small ports, old ships, yachts, fishing boats, small boats, fishing equipment and nets, vineyards, figs, olives, sun, sea, good food, it is Dugi Rat and Croatia.
